She lived in New York City and is fully bilingual in Polish and English. She is one of the first women in Connecticut to engage in the private practice of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) Head and Neck Surgery. She joined the Southern New England Ear, Nose and Throat & Facial Plastic Surgery Group in 1989. Dr. Byrne is involved in both the medical treatment and surgical intervention of Ear, Nose and Throat diseases. Besides the basics of tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy and placement of ear drainage tubes, Dr. Byrne is well versed in many aspects of the field, including allergy and sinus disease, endoscopic sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty, voice disorders and vocal cord laser surgery, sleep apnea surgery, thyroid surgery, head and neck tumors, parotid tumors, plastic surgery of skin lesions and skin cancer of the face and neck, and pediatric surgery. Over the years, Dr. Byrne has taught many residents from both Yale and Griffin hospitals who have been grateful for her clinical guidance. She takes pride in being fully devoted to her patients and being a skillful surgeon, paying a great deal of attention to minute details while operating. In her private life, she is married and has two sons. She enjoys cooking and exercise, and challenges herself by strenuous hiking. |
